I'm not trying to be insulting here, but I will never understand how anyone could listen to music like this and not be bored to fucking tears ten seconds in.

It's okay to be emotional in music but this just crosses the line into boring and sappy for me. Even if my wife just left me or something I don't think I'd be depressed enough to listen to a song like this.

If you do like music like this, please tell me why. Do you empathize with the singer? Does it not annoy you that every part of the song sounds the same? What is it that appeals to you in this song?
