So I went into my bathroom yesterday and my sink had about 30 ants in it. I didn't mind seeing a few of them in my house before, because they didn't sting me and kept out of my way but this was going too far! So I got my torch lighter and pushed it around my sink pretending that it was a flamethrower tank. They haven't showed up around my sink again, but I still found a line of ants running around the edge of my bathroom floor today.
I looked up homemade ant killers and it turns out borax is the same stuff they put in ant bait. So I smeared some honey is a deli cup I had handy, poked a few holes at the edge and mixed in about a spoonful of sugar and a spoonful of borax I found under the sink.
Hopefully many more ants will die~

Yup, that's the trick. I use 10 Mule Team (I think) laundry booster, same thing as borax. I mix it with powdered sugar 1:10 or so, so they can't distinguish it from the other stuff. Must kill the Borg queen!
Only wish honey had more honey in it... it's kind of a dead giveaway since the ones you buy from the store, have an expiration date :| I hate cut product.

Yeah I'm not sure about the 1:1 ratio I used, they seem to be crawling over the sugar and going for the honey smeared on the sides instead. Then again I gave it a good shake so there should be some borax coating the honey too. There's about 50 ants in and around the trap now!
I thought about getting some organic raw honey once but it's really expensive :(
